Lita Rossana Ford (also known by the name Lita Ford) is an British born American guitar vocalist who played as the lead vocalist in The Runaways a female hard rock group from the 1970s. The group was admired for their rebellious songs and punk-rock style. It wasn't possible for the group to be an instant hit in the United States, but they gained a lot of popularity in other countries, especially Japan. Ford launched a solo heavy-metal career after the breakup from her band in 1979. Her first solo release was 'Dancin' On the Edge and was followed by the record Out for Blood. Ford disappeared from rock for several years after the albums did not become popular. The singer returned with her smashing hit album 'Lita, which debuted in 1988. The single 'Kiss Me Deadly as well as the ballad 'Close My Eyes Forever' both became major success. Unfortunately, her popularity was only temporary and she was absent from the world of music for many decades. Her release of Black in 1995 was followed by fifteen year wait for 'Wicked wonderland.
